FLY PATTERN:     Flashback Scud
Materials:
Body:       Dubbing (blended grey and brown)
Weight:     Fine lead
Rib:          Fine copper
Casing:    Flashabou Mirage
Hook:       TMC2487 size 14
Thread:     8/0 grey
Step 1: Begin this pattern with your thread at the front of the hook.  Take a length of lead and wrap it around the hook and secure with a dot a Zap A Gap and glue. This will add both weight and bulk to the body.

Step 2: Wrap the thread to the back of the hook and at the bend tie in a length of fine copper for the rib.  Once secure with a drop of Zap a Gap, cut a strip of Flashabou Mirage and tie it in to be the casing.

Step 3: To create the rest of the body, make a dubbing loop with blended grey and brown rabbit dubbing, and wrap forward to behind the eye of the hook.

Step 4: Bring the Flashabou Mirage forward and tie it down behind the eye of the hook.  Being careful not to crimp the edges of the Flashabou, give the copper a few wraps around the hook shank and then wrap evenly forward 4-5 times to the front. Give the copper a few finishing wraps behind the eye and then tie it off.

Step 5: Whip finish the thread between the copper riband the eye.  To finish the fly use a dubbing pick and tease out the dubbed body.
