Welcome to the Central Ohio Fly Fishers Web site

...It is the mission of the Central Ohio Fly Fishers club to promote and encourage the sport and art of fly-fishing by providing a social setting to allow its members to share information and experiences through educational programming and activities, to build and promote fellowship among its members and to encourage the conservation and preservation of our natural resources.

COFF meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month during the Fall, Winter (except for December), and Spring.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, September 15 at Barley's Smokehouse. Come join us for dinner and drinks at 6 p.m.; presentations begin at 7 p.m. The speaker will be John Gaylord, a lifelong resident of Central Ohio. John will be talking about rod building (specifically about the rod he donated for the CFR raffle shown in the picture below) and his Florida Gulf fishing.

"John has been in the specialty retail business for over forty years, having owned and operated Little Professor Bookstores, and The Cookstore among several other retail pursuits. He currently operates a specialty retail consulting business called "By the Numbers". He is a very big fisherman (about 325 lbs.). His angling interests range from pond bass and bluegills, to Scioto river saugeyes, to Florida Gulf snook, tarpon, grouper, kingfish, etc. His flyfishing skills fall just between axe murderer and calf roping. Other passions include his lovely wife, custom rodbuilding, Italian cooking, and heirloom tomato gardening, necessarily in that order."

COFFoto of the month: John Gaylord (our September speaker) built this beautiful rod and reel combo for the CFR raffle. More information about the rod is available here. Submitted by Mary Lee Hahn.
